Quinn the therapy dog

About Quinn

Quinn is a 5.5-year-old Hungarian Vizsla who serves as the official "Waiting Room Specialist" at Tongue Twisters. For the past five years, Quinn has been an integral part of our practice, bringing joy, comfort, and calm to our clients.

Quinn's Role in Therapy

Quinn has a special ability to put nervous or anxious patients at ease. Many children (and adults!) who are apprehensive about speech therapy find that Quinn's gentle presence helps them relax and feel more comfortable during their sessions.

Whether greeting clients in the waiting room, providing calming companionship, or simply being a friendly face, Quinn's unconditional love and enthusiasm make a real difference in the therapeutic environment.

Quinn's Background

Quinn is a purebred Hungarian Vizsla, a breed known for their loyalty, gentleness, and affectionate nature. Vizslas are often called "velcro dogs" because of their tendency to stay close to their owners. Quinn embodies these wonderful characteristics.

Quinn grew up in a loving family environment and is well-trained, calm, and patient—perfect qualities for a therapy dog. Despite being a working dog, Quinn also enjoys playtime, outdoor adventures, and relaxing at home with the family.

Why Therapy Dogs?

Research has shown that the presence of animals can:

  • Reduce anxiety and stress in clinical settings
  • Improve mood and emotional well-being
  • Increase comfort and sense of safety
  • Encourage engagement and cooperation in therapy
  • Provide non-judgmental companionship

Quinn serves as a wonderful reminder that therapy at Tongue Twisters is a caring, supportive, and positive experience.
